This installation for the Talking Stick Resort West Pool and Cabanas reimagines the Ocotillo as a luminous, 40‑foot sculptural presence, echoing the architecture and landscape of the Salt River Pima‑Maricopa Indian Community.
Inspired by the plant’s drought‑tolerant resilience and its role in desert ecosystems, the work mirrors its fountain‑like form while honoring its status as a protected native species of the Southwest.
The is designed as both a focal point within a hospitality setting and a quiet tribute to generations who have lived with, learned from, and been sustained by this desert survivor.
